1st Kyle Creed Banjo Show that was held September 12th 2009
A couple years ago I decided it would be fun to have a Kyle Creed Banjo Show, so at the beginning of 2009 I decided I would have a show in September at the Stringbean Coffee Shop in Galax, Va. I put the word out to several of my friends that had Kyle banjos and told them to spread the word and before I knew it, people was contacting me from all over the world with Kyle banjos. I got contacts from Australia, Japan, Austria, Germany and from all over the United States. My main focus was and still is, is to document each banjo such as take measurements, photos and collect the stories from the owner how they came across their Kyle banjos. On, September 12th 2009 I got to the Coffee Shop and the people started rolling in to the show with their banjos. I was like a kid in a candy store, We was surrounded by 28 Kyle banjos that people brought in to show, and got lots of photos from people that couldn't be with us on that day. Several of Kyle's family came to the event and some of the people that knew Kyle came and shared their stories. People came as far away as New Jersey, Pennsylvania and even Japan and lots of locals that Kyle build banjos for. A total of 128 people signed the register at the show. And several folks got reacquainted with banjos that Kyle originally built for them and now owned by others. We're planning on having a Kyle Creed Banjo Show every three years and hope to dedicate a Website to Kyle Creed and his Banjos.
If anyone has a Kyle Creed banjo and hasn't got in touch with me, please contact me so I can continue my Kyle Creed Banjo Database. Your personal information will not be shared with anyone. The main focus is to get a count on how many Banjos Kyle made. If you have one or more, I'd like to get some photos and a description of the banjos. I've got a simplified measurement sheet I can send to you.
